We took a look at the 2016 Honda Pilot Elite. Josh Flynn from Legends Honda walked us through all of the features of this vehicle; both inside and out.

2016 Honda Pilot Elite Exterior

The 2016 Honda Pilot Elite AWD is a great vehicle for a family. Under the hood sits a 3.5L V6 engine that offers 280 horsepower. Plus 26 highway mpg gives you the best of both worlds; fuel economy and performance. Honda added high-strength steel combined with a network of front frame structures to absorb and deflect the energy from a frontal collision. That way it helps keep it out of the passenger compartment. The multi-view backup camera gives you three different views of the back of your vehicle: the wide view which gives you a 180 degree view, a normal view and the top-down view that gives you a view straight down so you can easily hitch a trailer or check for toys behind your vehicle. The power liftgate also makes it very easy to get into the truck of your vehicle. With the push of a button the door lifts or closes. Plus there’s extra storage space hidden down below the truck floor.

2016 Honda Pilot Elite Interior

The interior of the 2016 Honda Pilot Elite AWD is packed with all sorts of features. Starting inside the vehicle, most of the controls a driver would need are mounted right on the steering wheel — including access to all of the Honda Sensing features like the Road Departure Mitigation System, a Lane Keeping Assist System, Adaptive Cruise Control and the Collision Mitigation Braking System. The gear-shift for this 9-speed automatic has been switched to an all push-button system.

The 8-inch display is a touchscreen that makes it easy to access anything you might need. The three big ones are the audio, access to your phone and the new Garmin Navigation system. The back seat has a rear push-button to make it easier for kids to get to the third-row seats. The seat is spring loaded so just push the button then slide it back into place.

The driver, passenger and rear compartment all have their own temperature settings with the tri-climate zones. Plus the 2016 Honda Pilot Elite features heated captains chairs as well as heated and cooled front seats.

If you look up, you’ll see the Blu-ray player as well as the panoramic sunroof covering the whole roof of the vehicle. It’s a great way to let some of the outdoors in when it’s nice out.
