On June 3rd, the UNO Community Arena was unveiled as Baxter Arena.
Baxter Arena is another step forward in the long-standing relationship between Baxter Auto and UNO. Tal Anderson, founder of Baxter, attended UNO for his undergraduate degree. Later, Tal gave back to UNO by serving on the Alumni Board, the Chancellors Committee and as a member of the College of Business Advisory Board.
Today, this partnership between Baxter and UNO remains strong as Baxter continues Tal’s commitment of giving time, donations and support for quality education. The most fulfilling aspect of Tal’s career was the opportunity to give back to his employees and the community that supported him and continue to support Baxter Auto. Baxter Arena is one way to continue Tal’s vision.
With seating for 7,500, the Baxter Arena will host men’s hockey, ice skating and various youth programs. Eventually, the arena will host men’s and women’s basketball and women’s volleyball. UNO promises that over 33% of the ice time will be given to the community for free skate and various community events.
Baxter Arena is more than just a name on the side of a building. The arena will be an Omaha landmark as Baxter remains committed to maintaining the highest standard of business now and in the future.
