The new spindle grille from Lexus is larger and bolder.
First premiered on 2014 models, the redesigned grille stands out with it’s unique hourglass design.
But where did the idea come from? An article from Automotive news explained how the innovative design came about:
The epiphany came while GS lead designer Katsuhiko Inatomi was playing with clay models of that car at the company’s studio in Toyota City. On a whim, he tweaked the air intake to connect the lower and upper grilles in a boxlike frame.
Then the grille was born. And look at that grille.
Some Lexus customers have mixed feelings about the new design. But controversies aside, the new design definitely makes Lexus stand out.
So what do you think of the new design? Is it here to stay?
