Memorial Day is a time to honor those who lost their lives serving our country.

Since the Civil War, Americans have used Memorial Day as a time to honor and remember those who have lost their lives in the line of duty, defending our country. Many of our employees have lost friends and family members over the years. And we take time today to remember all those who served.

The annual Boys Town Memorial Day Run takes place today, May 30th, at the Boys Town campus. Their mission this year is to “shine a light on our city’s everyday heroes.”

At Baxter, we have some local heroes we’d like to “shine a light on.” From a war zone to the sales floor of a dealership, these men are our local heroes. They served their country and came back. Even though Memorial Day is about honoring those who lost their lives, we would like to thank those who are still with us,those who dedicated their time and a portion of their lives to their country.

So to them, we say thank you. And to those no longer with us, we say we will never forget.

“In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends” -Martin Luther King, Jr.
