Here are a few September community events going on In Omaha throughout the month. There’s plenty to do as the weather is starting to change – from fundraisers to races – all supporting great causes in the metro area.

September Events

First Responders Foundation – Thursday, September 8 

We are proud to support our first responders. Join us in showing that we appreciate their dedicated service during the 3rd Annual 9/11 Memorial Benefit. Join us for a fun night of great food, complimentary beer and wine, amazing auction items and live music. This will be a great opportunity to show your support and appreciation of first responders alongside Omaha Police Officers and Firefighters. Dress is country casual.

Ronald McDonald House Wing & Wheel – Friday, September 9

Enjoy the chance to sample foods from local vendors, cocktails and wine while viewing a collection of luxury automobiles and private airplanes. After viewing the planes and automobiles, guests will be able to bid on packages during the live auction.  The setting itself will be worthy of an action movie and will take place inside an actual airplane hangar at Signature Flight Support. Cocktail attire.

KidChella – Saturday, September 10

Baxter Subaru is helping sponsor KidChella – a kids music and arts festival celebrating the Omaha Children’s Museum’s 40th anniversary. The event, held in Aksarben Village’s Stinson Park, will be full of music, crafts, dancing, demonstrations, food and local vendors.

QLI An Evening at the Fair – Friday, September 16

Baxter Auto is helping sponsor this massive indoor “old fashioned country fair.” An Evening at the Fair, held in Baxter Arena, is a philanthropic event to help individuals and families across Nebraska and around the nation who are working to rebuild their lives after suffering from a brain or severe spinal cord injury.

Boy Scouts Golf Tournament – Monday, September 19

Baxter Auto is proud to sponsor of the 46th Annual Boy Scout Golf Invitational. Swing for a good cause. The goal for this tournament is to raise $80,000 to benefit the scouting program in the Mid-America Council. The golf tournament will be held Monday, September 19 at Shadow Ridge Country Club with lunch at 11am and a shotgun start at noon.

Touch A Truck – Saturday, September 24 & Sunday, September 25

Don’t miss Child Saving Institute’s annual Touch-A-Truck event. The Child Saving Institute Guild’s exciting “friend-raiser” is a free event for the entire family where children can see and climb on real life vehicles. Kids, accompanied by their parents or guardian, can explore emergency and military vehicles, semi-trucks, bobcats, race cars and other commercial vehicles and talk to the people who operate them. Other activities will include face-painting, prizes, bouncy tents, food, clowns and more.

Bike MS – Saturday, September 24

Audi Omaha is proud to be a local sponsor of the largest fundraising bike series in the world. Each year 7,500 teams and nearly 100,000 cyclists choose Bike MS. Bike MS: Nebraska Ride 2016 is the 30th anniversary ride for Nebraska with routs using the iconic Lied River Bridge and long routes ending at Haymarket Park Stadium. The goal of this event is to raise $100,000 to drive MS research and help those who face the challenges of MS everyday.

C.A.R. Distracted Driving Golf Tournament  – Friday, September 30

Baxter Auto will be the hole-in-one sponsor for the C.A.R. Distracted Driving Golf Tournament for the 6th year in a row. The C.A.R. Alliance for Safer Teen Driving wants to reduce preventable crashes and deaths by educating drivers about the dangers of distracted driving.
